Not to throw a spanner in the works OFC.
If I was starting again I would look at the NEW CHIHIROS A-SERIES PLUS AQUATIC AQUARIUM SUPER LED LAMP 30-95W LIGHT 30-90CM I order one last week 'A451 plus', to kill three birds with one stone.

    1. for son to try on his tank - dont think I will get it back so will order another then
    2. To see/try it on big tank - think I would need four or five off them
    3. To fit on my 10Gallon tank - can control intensity off light them plus adjust height and can move the dennerle HOB canister about to better position as the twin T5 dennerle lights are preventing this.

Some PAR figures can be found in this thread ADA | WASMAS | ZETLIGHT | TWINSTAR | CHIHIROS | LED PAR DATA [The power of light]

Its not too late to send them back :whistle:

Seriously its a hard call, I would hate to have not mentioned them seeing as I have ordered one.

Think the kessils would of been a mistake all the same.

Sorry now Keith but that €1300 is excluding the tank!!!! Tank is costing me €600 so I'm around the €2000 for tank and cabinet. Im still waiting on two prices to come back to be re: the cabinet.

2359.27 US Dollar At that price I would want to see every thing first. If you are not knowledgeable in Cabinet Making find some one and take them with you. A big tip just because it might look good does not mean it is. I am a Cabinet Maker and taught the trade for a total of 36 years.

I know what your saying Keith but I've two prices already got from (A) a reputable fish shop (B) my carpenter and both fall within €50. I'm waiting on another two quotes, one of which has been recommended by a fellow member. Unfortunately whatever price I do get for whatever, I do really have to take their word for the quality of cabinet cause I ant going to see it, first hand, until it arrives at my front door. Obviously by which hand it's too late. Unless I go with my local carpenter I'm shooting blind.

It might be a little inconvenient but at that cost it is something I would do.

My first always boss always said its the finish that counts.

If all prices similar, I would go local OFC. The company I used just dropped it off. But was good at getting a few extra bits for me afterwards. The base was so heavy it surprised me. As to the quality time will tell. One very very small bubble in one peice of glass which took months to come to light.

To check the glass look side on if there are any faults it can be seen easily. I good glazier can show how to do plus the glazier can pick a fault by feel (I did say a good Glazier) not someone who can cut glass.

So I saw my finished tank today. It's opti white glass with a black background. The joints though we're sealed using black silicone. Bit disappointed with the look to be honest. Was hoping for cleaner lines.

No I wasn't told about that at all. Will definitely ask why black glue was used. The guy that builds them wasn't there yesterday.
