I just ordered myself a PAR meter. I will finally be able to compare PAR between tanks and quit guessing about light levels. I can set it to desired intensity and then worry about other factors to get the growth I'm shooting for.

One big conundrum I have had for some time is that in my 20 gallon with two 24 watt T5s I get fantastic color. This is a grow tank and is fairly neglected, yet growth is near ideal. In my 90 cm display tank, which gets more TLC, I can't quite match the color. I've gotten good growth, but it always ends up being a balancing and guessing game. No more with the PAR meter!

Hopefully this will lead to some discussion about lighting. I will be comparing various LEDs (30 cm aquasky, 45cm LED, and my dimmable T5s)
