I present a little Spanish gem, Dugastela valentina . This shrimp its color is very variable among individuals of the same area. Adult males and females at the time of reproduction acquire tones that make them dark, sometimes bright blue stripes and other individuals have white dots on a transparent or brownish. Some become translucent , and even acquire some red pigmentation in the area of the cephalothorax. Some pictures : Name: Dugastella valentina, (Ferrer Galdiano,1924). Distribution : Valencian coast (N Senio River, Pego S), although it can be found in other nearby areas. An approximate distribution could be south of Catalonia / Valencia / Murcia.(Spain) Size: 3,5 cm Sex differences: Females slightly larger and rounded. Males usually darker.
