This is my new journal after having to rescape. This is a long way off finished as there is still planting that needs to be done and needs a lot of time to progress.

    Aquarium: 60x30x35
    Filter: Eheim 2213
    Lighting: 2x24w T5 Lights
    Substrate: ADA Aqua Soil
Hardscape: Red Moor Wood and Seiryu Stone
    DIY Co2
Plants: Monte Carlo, Staurogyne Repens, Rotala Bonsai

Please ignore the rock on top of the DW as its only there for the moment to stop it floating up.

Cool setup. I wonder what it would look like with the drift wood on the other side of the tank, separate from the stones. How do you like the monte carlo? I was looking at that as a potential first time plant...

Looks like you are off to a good start. My only concern at the moment is the thick lower piece of DW that is practically touching the glass. It appears to be dividing your foreground Aquascape in half.

I think it looks nice. Can't wait to see it grown in.

Hey J Art i placed it on this side of the tank as it shows the woods best features. The Monte Carlo is knowing as been one of the easier carpeting plants, It grows so quick :)

Thanks Keith I like the DW thats near the glass and im hoping that when fully planted and grown in it will look completely different. I can always move some of the rocks near that piece and plant some more monte carlo? ;)

    Thanks Lucas much appreciated.

Most Aquascapes improve as they age the others just go backwards mainly through neglect.

It certainly lacks height at the rear of the tank.

Be careful with the over head plants some can be an uncontrollable weed eg "Duck Weed"

I was just letting the plants root and start a nice healthy carpet. Rear of the tank is my next priority :)

    Blyxa Japonica top left corner
Stargrass along the back behind the DW
    Phoenix moss on the DW
    Amazon Frogbit for floating plant

I tried for ages to grow that plant but I was never successful.

This is what can happen if left uncontrolled it will reduce the light to the other plants.
