    Hi folks,

Chris invited me to join him and Oliver setting up 50 tanks for the upcoming aquascaping book, they are actually working on. So I would like to share my impressions with you and let you have a small preview on what you can expect next year.

Action took place in Pirmasens, at Dennerle premises. We’ve spent the whole weekend setting up tanks and photographing step by step. Believe me; you’ve never felt that tired, like we did after this weekend. Luckily we had some volunteers, who came to help us, big thanks to Dominik, Volker and Sebastian! Beside aquascaping we had a great barbeque with the Dennerle crew, friendly guys though. During the whole weekend Chris took probably more than 8.000 pictures and it was a pleasure for me to improve my photography skills and of course a great opportunity to talk about Aquascaping with Oliver Knott and discuss recent events like IAPLC and the upcoming Art of the Planted Aquarium in Hanover. We had a great time and I’m looking forward to meet these guys again.

Now a couple of photos, please don’t mind that I can’t show too much before release. This is kind of sneak preview, but I’m sure there will be some more photos until the entire release ;)

Stay tuned and enjoy the photos

Probably the best way to take shots, with instant check on a 27" Display

That's pretty cool Juri. On the shot for that little nano, how many strobes are firing? Looks like you have a background fill and two others?

    Luis,
Hannover event is end of January.
From what Harald Sossna told me, Mr. Amano will be there as well. And there will be again a scapernight with lots of fun, like last year. This year is going to be very special, as Amano will judge as well!!! Unique opportunity to get feedback on your scape from Amano himself, but you have to be there and participate the contest. :-p hope to see many of you there :proud:

    J,
Exactly mate. If you look in detail you will notice a slight shadow in the left side near the tank, this is because the left front flash wasn't working properly. Each second time it had an delay, so we often had to repeat the shots.

    O,
The BBQ was great, WEBER grill are the best!

    Shadow,
Thanks mate. Very interesting as well Dennerle product development department. Man, there are some great new products in the pipeline :celebrate:

    Flo,
Money is not everything my friend.
However it won't be a pocket-size one. I mean 50 scapes from scratch to final shot, in one book - awesome!!!

    Ghostmonk,
Cheers bud. If you have a chance to join Hannover event, do it ;)

Sadly, I don't think the dennerle line makes it accross the pond to the States.

Sounds like the weekend was some work, but all fun!

    Shadow,
who knows? however, I´m glad to see that finally something happens! Dennerle is well known for its consumer products, so they will make aquascaping affordable to a wider audience

Thanks Juri, Slightly off-topic, the little stand for the Nano. I'm always looking for things like that. Is that made by Mr. Knott or does he have a supplier custom make what he asks for?

Well, it did not work well with Dupla, and ADA is only here because of all the pictures and strong marketing they have done here. Tropica also was not going to go after the USA market due to poor care and control points along the way.

The cheap FL growers and the Asian market is more common here and cheaper.

I like Oliver as he seems not to care about conventions.
I think that is a good quality.

Thanks Juri, I may go to Hanover and see the show, enough time to plan. :)

In October I have the trip to Denmark, so should see Amano there, and Chris, Claus and Kasselman.

    Luis,
you maybe don´t know - but we´ll be sitting in the same plane from stansted to aarhus ;)

    Tom,
USA is such a big market, I do not understand why those big brands are missing there. IMO "Made in Germany" still counts in US, so it should be kind of easy to enter the market.
However, you can´t compare Dupla with Dennerle. Dupla was market leader 30 years ago, today nobody knows Dupla in Germany. Their product range has become old fashion over the years and only few years ago they updated the lineup, but missed to promote it well. Dennerle is doing a lot for the Hobby nowadays - maybe this is the reason for their success.

looks good Juri, and agree with the 'made in Germany' statement. The Germans still are and probably always will be the best engineers in the world, whether that be power filters or cars.
