I am new to all this, and started out with a 12 gallon long tank. It's a beautiful tank, I love the shape of it, but it certainly limits my options for inhabitants. Right now I have 6 green tetras and 1 red cherry shrimp (bought 2, but one didnt survive the ride home...). Any advice on fish for a small tank?

More shrimps and another 6 green neons if you've got plenty of filtration capacity, Depends on the set up IMO.

I used to get a wide variety of fish for my tanks. Now, I like single species tanks. So for me I would add more Green Neons.
