    What is a "Lurker"?
According to the Wikipedia definition: "In Internet culture, a lurker is a person who reads discussions on a message board, but rarely or never participates actively. Research indicates that "lurkers make up over 90% of online groups". Lack of trust represents one of the reasons explaining lurking behavior."

Now does that sound like you? ;)

Are you a lurker? Why, and how can we make it more comfortable for you to participate? For everyone, how can we make ASW better?

Boy, well I'm glad you didn't check off "Yes: I am a Lurker"!

Mod + Lurker Status = Not a Good Combo. :ROFLMAO:

    "Other" sounds great to me!

True, but this post is in the depths of the forum index so maybe it's not being viewed as much as other threads. Maybe this thread will help people become un-lurked.

For those who are lurkers it's extremely important to become active and support each other. This is the only way the hobby grows and inspires us to do better.

Really glad you posted. We would love to see your tanks or help you if you have any questions. Besides that, I am sure people would love to hear feedback on their layouts, and are more than willing to provide information on how they did something.

What's stopping people from actively participating and how can we help?

Yes, i am most definately a lurker :cautious: ...
    ... wait a minute ...
... did i just participate in a forum discussion?

Argh, it's a TRAP. i need to get the heck away

Anywho, i'm just very selective about what and when i write (so ignore the above frantics). And since i am very new to the whole aquascaping thing (the fish are more important or i will get in trouble with the kids) i lack the experience to comment effectively on scapes and questions.
All will change for the better soon though when i reveal my project of redoing the family tank (high light, low tech i presume).

Oh, and when i eventually post a comment i usually ramble on and on

caution with this, high light and low tech do not go together! :D

See, look, you come out from wherever lurkers hang out and already get some advice ;)

I will be adding co2 (just not in a high tech way), so i hope it will work. Maybe we just have different definitions of low tech

Btw, did i mention i am oppositional?
