Looks really nice, I bet it'll look even better if your last scapes are anything to go by!

Urgh, IAPLC does more harm to this hobby than you'd believe. Just think of all the tanks we never get anything but a final photo of or that we don't see because you're not allowed to show the pictures, there must be hundreds of threads over the years that have never happened because people are squirrelling everything away for some scape comp or another.

I'll keep an eye out for it though, not long now, the sword tank was brave and bold, I really liked it! You're really coming on as a scaper.

yeah i know where you're coming from, but i wanted to give it a go...just for experience more than anything else. Thank you for the complement as well, it really does mean a lot.

It shouldn't, I'm not really a respectable figure in scaping, I'm just persistent. ;)

Who knows, you might get favouritism with it being judged by PFK. First uk scaper to take top ten! ;)

Yeah, I can imagine he'll do well, he's got some great equipment and he's in a lucky position with tropica and what not, I'd kill for what he has going on. I don't think I could afford to plant a 30cm at the minute haha.

I dunno though, the Polish and Asian guys are gonna slay it this year I reckon, Polish winner I think. I've got every winner right in euros right so I'm feeling confident in that prediction. :p

Ian. Nice to see this. This is a step way above previous scapesyou've done. A real progression and it is easy to see you are enjoying the hobby. Looks like you have taken several influences and mixed what you like from them and it works well.

That lighting is making the scape look much crisper and real too :) another uber cool addition :)

@ Garuf, i'm with you on the Eastern European thing. Those guys in Poland are throwing out amazing scapes one after the other. Viktor Lantos has a nice scape in this year as well.

@ Andy, thanks for the comment mate. The wood is from the Aquarium, he has some really nice hardscape in at the moment (i know you're making you own at the min).

@ abhradip, thank you for the comment. The lights are TMC grow beams, with the TMC fixture. Leds are the way forward (to quote andy a few years ago lol)

yes, i agree...they grow plants really we as well. There was a lot of scepticism about LED's a few years ago. I think the plant growing world has now just about accepted the fact they grow plants well. Even ADA have brought out a LED system now albeit, it'll be about £200000000! lol

well issue is these companies apart from ADA have not catered to the vast Indian market yet, so if by mistake one of the LFS manage to outsource these they end up charging a bomb! DIY is the only way out, but yet again investing such time is next to impossible atleast for me due to my office work.. :p I guess companies will start taking interest after they see that third largest entries into IAPLC this year is from India!!

I have noticed a lot of Indian scaper coming through over the last 2 years, it's becoming popular over there isn't it. I work with an Sri Lankan doctor and apart from his massive love for cricket he's really into his planted aquariums. He's been showing me pics of crypts that he's collected around sri lanka. Thats the one thing for you out there, you have a good resource of plants. It is the same in England regarding the price of ADA though...the shipping costs are immense, hence the price.

yes! aquascaping is reaching new heights in India for sure. I have been scaping for quite a while now but yes, this year finally thought of entering a contest for the first time. Wanted to get the feeling of it for once, but i'm a pure hobbyist by nature, if someone wants plants from my tanks I end up giving for free even to LFS. you are even right on that aspect plants especially crypts/moss is kindof readily available in India/asia, to be honest i myself am going down to a collection trip for rock/moss/glosso etc next week for my next scape (I never buy my hardscape, be it wood or stone - I love collecting it directly from nature)

    thanks pupa!

end of week 2, and it's had it's first trim. Managed to bag a Eheim 2073, so thats now in place of the JBL, nothing against the JBL, but i wanted to try and remove the powerhead in there as it's quite ugly, and the Eheim chucks out some flow!...saying that, it'll be going back in at the first sign of anything bad lol!

Using thin driftwood pieces are always hard to do well. They always end up looking a bit "messy" for the lack of a better word. Not the case with your Aquagreen layout. I think you've done an outstanding job thus far. I'll keep a lookout for the next update!
