Thought to click some pictures of my Anubias Grower Tank. Let me know how it is. No Scaping at all. Specs: Plants: Anibias Nana Anubias Nana Var. Marbel Anubias Barteri Anubias Caffefolia Anubias Petite Java Ferns Fishes: 4 Angels, 3 Ottos, 1 Clown Loach (This is the oldest fish and he is with me from the first day of my hobby) Size: 2x1.5x1 (20G) Light: 2 18 watt T8 6500K Fertilizer: Single dose of EI once in a week. CO2: Diffused by Powerhead (1bps) Substrate: Laterite, River Sand Changing 75% water per week. Before 1 year I got a rizome of nana with 6 leaves and now I have more than 20 cuttings and a jungle.
i think it looks ncie, but 4 angelfish in a 20 gallon is way too much, your only supposed to have 1 or 2 in a 29 gallon, so i dont think they are appropriate for this tank, maybe you could try some blue rams.
Completely agree with you. When I got these angels, they were just baby arround 1" size. Now in 4 months they have grown up. I will move them to my 120G tank as soon as I will finish the plantation there. I am planning to keep 4 tuxedos with them in that 120G. And today only, I have got 4 Golden Rams and 4 Long fin Ramirezi which will be housed in the 4 feeter along with the angels.
The clown loach is also unappropriate: its can get big-30cm-and likes to be kept in small groups, not singly.
I am going to dump this tank as a hospital/breeding tank. I will move all the Anubias in a new 2.5'x1.5'x1.5' tank with Mosses and will kep only shrimps there.
This loach is with me for last 3 years. I started with 3 of them, and 2 died. But for last 1 year he is in this 2 feeter and quite happy. Whenever I moved him in a bigger tank, it stopped eating for several days and always hiding.
When you will get a good growth and branches out from main rizome, then cut out the branches with a new sharp blade. Never ever cut the main rizhom. always try to take out branche when it will have 8-10 leaves. If your mother rizom is healthy enough, within month you will get new branches coming out from it. Cut off couple of old leaves, from my own experience I found it will stimulate the growth.
