Hey guys! Just come across this forum which looks like it could be pretty helpfull

Anyway i'm used to keeping African Malawi's using lots of rocks, but slowly became bored, but they have gone to a new home now which leaves me with 2 Pangasius cats :ehhh:

Now my question is, what sort of aquascaping do i need for this type of fish?

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

    Cheers for the welcome :D

    just found this info....

    Scientific Name : Pangasius hypophthalmus
Common Names : Iridescent Shark, Pangasius Catfish, Sutchi Catfish, Striped Catfish, Thailand Catfish

My tanks only 180 litres, about 50gal ??
The cats are only small at the moment. I was told they'd go well with my african cichlids, how wrong were they lol the cats got terrorised! So theyve been in a seperate small tank for a while, also got 2 lemon finned barbs (Hypsibarbus wetmorei?)

    Hi Dave and welcom

Aquascapes is not usually designed for a fish, but can be. Generally I consider it the other way around. I create something that I think looks good, maybe inspired by something terrestrial, and not a biotope. Then I look for some fish that matches.
I normally chose fish based on size, color and behavior.

If you chose the fish before the scape, you should consider things like what plants are suitable.
Angelfisk (Pterophyllum altum) has vertical stribes, and I think that plants with long, thin vertical leaves are good.

Dave, just wondering how big you said your tank was? cause if the fish that you are talking about looks like the one posted by jur4ik it seems that it can grow a bit more...

I got a friend that have some cats and are not going to be that huge on a tank however my friend has a 1100 gallon tank, but still big enough... there are also some more examples of what you can expect at monsterFishKeepers
