There were a few recent posts about this that got me to thinking this would be a great time to ask this question. Who are your favorite all time Aquascapers to date. If they're member of ASW they'll love to hear why too. ;)

haha thanks George.. everyone mentioned here I look up to btw, it's just that Amano will always be "the one" for me personally.

John N. It would be really nice to start a similar thread where folks show their all time favorite aquascape!

There is so many beautiful designs out there are hard to name them all, but the ones that have made an impact will be the following:
Mr. Amano specially his work from 1998 to 2003 those are I think the ones that I go back just to study the planting technique.
I always enjoy Eric Leung aquariums since he started way back in the days when aquascaping was not exactly as popular as it is now. His layouts are simple but there is always a strong composition in all of them.
Mike Senske for his colorful designs he is not afraid to use many plants and this work out well even though his hard scapes are robust.
Jeff Senske for his good eye on big planted tanks, and his use of green plants only you see with aquascapers that have lots of experience green only tanks are the most difficult yet the most beautiful.
Oliver Knott for his thinking out of the box design he is really good at creating planted aquariums short and long term projects are no challenge for this guy.
Wayne Sham I have been looking at his work for a long time now and his details in foreground to mid ground are really good there is always something that gets my attention.
    Cheers,
    Luis Navarro

I been always around a little quiet lately but my children are demanding more and more time but as they grow I am beginning to aquascape more.
I am working on my webpage soon since it has not been updated for like 5 years or more! I have 12 planted tanks at the moment and not one I have photograph! but I will I promise.

Well - i can say for sure what scapes by who has inspired me the most.
But as for inspirations given by the aquascaper its namely Steven Chong that has . His philosophic approach to the hobby has givin me inspiration to use more of my potential for creative aquascaping. Being aware, notice and use more energi the right way for the process.

Some of the most inspiring scapes for me has been:

    Luis Navarro's - 75 gallon open forground
Mike Senske's - Dutch East Passage
    Filipe Oliveira's - Syrah "Planura" 60L
    Norbert Sabat's - ? Apistogramma tank

    And many more...

    Well...

Mr Amano will be always #1 for me ;)

CAU guys are good but i don't specially like they work - many of them (BUT NOT ALL ;) ) are too colorfull and "candy-look" for me ;) (this is only my opinion). Last Wayne Sham layout (with trees) was worse ever for me - he can make much, much better.

There is many good aquascapers in the world. Sometimes one good layout make you master and everybody remember that even if rest of your scape is poor.

I really like Fumio Shiga - he is master of ryuboku and he is always in TOP of ADA contest. See his layouts for IAPLC 2005, 2006, 2007 - ALWAYS IN Honour Prize !! This is true master and he looks like samurai to me ^:)^

ps. Is suprise for me to see my name with some world-knowed aquascapers :daydream:

    Oliver Knott.
Roy Deki. It was a photo of his 15 gallon iwagumi that gave me the incentive to start up a planted tank after I got out of reefkeeping. Thanks, Roy :)
