    Local plants

If you are still looking for local plants you can hit me up or members of AAPE if you haven't already tried. Few local stores in PHX/tempe areas - aquatouch, pets inc. HC can ship pretty hard around here... :)

    great start so far.

Hey thanks. I think aquatouch is the only place I know in town. I did order some online and will see how well they handle the heat before getting home. Lame they don't ship on weekends, don't understand that.

First planting of HC. I made a little adjustments to the rock layout.

Cut some plexiglass to cover the tank to keep it humid and moist (extra dry in Arizona) and hopefully nothing will dryout and melt the next few weeks.

Working on a light schedule, thinking perhaps 4 hrs on - 2 hrs off - 4 on (250W MH).
Anyway getting pretty excited, now its a little R&R from all the building, soil placing, rock hunting, research etc.
Not that I wasn't already a nerd but this project cements it for my girlfriend.
    I whisper 'my escape'...lol

    Sorry for the delay amigos.

    Front level photo.

6 day growth of HC, I think it's gonna pickup speed in growth as it settles in, but six days and they look good.

    Alex.

Thinking grass and some stems after the HC spreads.

Im thinking UG would also look awesome in this setup with the flowing texture you could make it look like a green "river" flowing down the mountain path or something.

I love the rock setup, if only they had more foreground plants for sale in Turkey.

I really love the hardscape, you have done a great job. I am jealous of the fact you can nip out and find rocks like that out in the dessert. I have friends who live in Arizona and have been there a few times. Do you have problems with the heat and evaporation?
