Wood won't sink after more that 1 year submerged.

Hi everyone I have got this piece of wood that I really love. I found it at the bottem of a river and took it home. At home it laid in the shed for 2 weeks before I pasteurized it in boiled water. After cooling of it was added to a tank. It has been submerged now with some rocks on top for more than a year close to 2 years even but it just won't sink. What can I do to make it sink quicker? I find it strange because in the river it was waterlogged and sunk to the bottem.

If the wood is weighed down by rocks why do you want to remove it now? If it’s not the scape that you are looking to achieve then one option is to glue rock at the bottom to hold it in place and the rock can then be covered/buried in the substrate. Slate type of rock works best for this purpose.

Some driftwoods have issues in sinking than others and its hard to tell why.
