Rock arrangement advice

Hello I have two pieces of petrified wood in my 36 gallon. I am trying to make them look more mountainous, but to no avail. Here are some of the arrangements I’ve tried.

Any advice on making a mountain effect?

Probably need more rocks set out as a mountain range? Take a look at UKAPS forum Aquascaping Contest 2020 for ideas. Some good rock scapes on including the winner
 
This is what I ended up with. I still feel the small rocks in the left corner need a little tweaking. I added some new plants and am trying out water lettuce! Love the way the roots flow down so far.
Open to thoughts/critiques!
