Hello fellow aquascapers!
This is a Dennerle 'Scapers Tank' with the 'Scapers Flow' canister filter. co2 2 bps.
I decided to keep my main placement idea initially as i felt it created depth and still kept the minimal iwagumi layout with these particular seiryu stones i have. It's been about a week since i planted the tank.
The plants i chose are micranthemum tweediei for the main carpet, eleocharis parvula in the background with some planted around stones. i went to a local aquarium shop were they had hydrocotyle japan in stock and i couldnt resist so i planted that behind the main rock for added texture. (and one red root floater just for fun)
The micranthemum tweediei is slightly melting as it adjusts to submerged form from tissue culture, anticipating the booming growth when it's finished establishing itself. I can see new growth of submerged leaves growing in place of the melt so i know that this awkward stage is just an inevitable adaptation process. I try to get out as much melted material as i can with tweezers. My filter has purigen for the water hardness the seiryu stones cause, and i added chemi-pure green to help with initial dead plant matter.
I may trim and train my hydrocotyle to grow lower after it's well acclimated but i also like the wild look as midground coverage (the shrimps to hide inside.)
Ive added 2 nerite and 2 amano to help with this process and they seem to be doing really well in the tank, surprisingly my water parameters are very stable. (I've done A LOT of research on everything possible and im obsessed)
