I'm setting up another Dennerle 10 gallon and have cherry-picked a few pieces of wood over the last year. Substrate will likely be Eco Complete but I also have a bag of ADA handy. Just wanting to do Neos in here though so leaning towards EC. Here are the 4 pieces of wood. I got them specifically because they fit into one another, but all four don't have to be used.
Piece #1 is a nice stump and cut well. The back has a saw cut though, so this will be the front unless I can cover that up.
Piece #2 has a long branch (6" or so) facing the front glass as shown
Piece #3 is a simple 3 prongbranch
piece #4 is another branch, but creates a nice bridge
This was my first arrangement using all four pieces:
My second was just swapping the direction of piece #3 on the left. I may wind up turning it diagonally so that the "stick" is behind the main mass, and possibly buried
My third is also similar, but I changed the direction of the main mass also, making one cluster. I like this one for the depth of field, but things feel a bit too centered.
And for the last one, I took piece #4 out completely:
I know what I like in aquascaping, but it's much harder to actually pull off than it is to critique. As usual thanks for taking the time to look and think about it, any thoughts appreciated. Happy to move any pieces in directions that y'all come up with and snap more photos.
