not a bad ranking. my first entry in 2010 was above 1000 + just behind 349 other entries vying for the last place:LOL:

what i see is a dead end road due to lack of light in the back.
maybe lots of HM trimming L/R to match your mound over your focal point.
just my personal opinion.

btw welcome to ASW(y)

A touch of well-trimmed...this tank would look a lot better. Good scape and plants choices. Congrats on your ranking .(y)(y)

Congratulations that is far better if I put my tank in I can assure you.

My first suggestion is just keep trying and, take note of what style and type are in the top 25 and work towards that.

I often wonder myself are some of the Aquascapes done just to please the Judges.

I did a top trim up possibly too neat but it gives you an idea.

I extended the narrow pathway LH end just to give a little extra interest.

Is that a stick in the middle of the path if so its rather distracting.

I also extended it as if going behind that rock.

Try to create as many little interesting spots as you can some thing to make the Judges want to stay a bit longer and actually look into your tank.

thanks guys for your comments and suggestions!
i will take these into considerations for my next scape. :)

hiisoka,

You can tweak that one up your self and you will see the difference immediately.

Learn from that one is an excellent idea.

unfortunately, i have decommisioned the above scape in august, prior
to my trip to europe.

thank you for drawing out the ideas on my picture, it is very helpful!
i am able to understand immediately what is lacking.
