java fern

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could answer my question as to why my Windelov Java ferns are turning this crispy brown color? I bought them last week at petsmart (the topfin in a tube ones) and originally they were a nice green color but have slowly turned tort his darker green brown color...

This is my first aquascape. I started this setup about September 25th 2016. It is a 46 gallon bow front. Finnex Fugeray plus 36" pressurized Co2 So this photos shows 3 months of progress. Some plants died, I had an amazing amount of algae growth. And what seems like the first time in 3 months...
