Or Welcome to Rex's Guide to Planted Tanks

The aquarium fert co used to be Greg Watson, and I have not bought dry fertz in a while, but I seem to remember some complaints about shipping costs being VERY high and product showing up in Flat Rate USPS boxes so that they were charging about 200% of the shipping cost or more. It has been some time since I have seen this, but Rex (also along time for me to actually be up to date on) is pretty upfront about his shipping charges and I don't think there is a CRAZY mark up for profits.

You can specify for HIGH GRADE ferts for a little higher price from Rex IIRC, like lab grade or something like that, not sure about the Aq Fert Store.

+1 on Aquarium Fertilizer. They are quick to ship and not at all expensive. Great people to deal with.

Cant help you out here, I go to the local hydroponics Shop for KN03,KH2P04, and my K2S04. I buy it dry in 500 ml containers. Or the local Drilling Mud Compant sold me a bag of KN03/60lbs. for 32.00 cdn.

60lbs of KNO3 will last lifetimes!

I've always bought my ferts from Greg Watson, now Alan's aquariumfertilizers.com. I like how they revamped their website. Good prices and quick shipping (the ship from California). Though I don't know them Alan and Julia) personally, from what I hear from the local SF club they are great people.

OK, I went to the site and did a mock order to check the shipping prices.
They have really taken care of the problem and the complaints must have been listened to , the shipping prices are more then reasonable.
I like to see vendors that listen to the complaint of their customers and make the necessary changes.
I am also glad that they kept the same principles that Greg Watson had in being " a hobbyist helping hobbyists".
Class "A" company IMHO

It' varies from set to set. So to identify the specific measurements of your smidgen, dash, pinch set get a real 1/4 teaspoon and do the following

A 1/8 tsp should fill the ¼ tsp in 2 tries.
A 1/16 tsp in 4 tries.
A 1/32 tsp in 8 tries.
