Default soilmaster select replacement pc select

A year ago I used soilmaster select (with added peat moss) to setup a 1g eco jar which has supported 5 neon tetras for about 8 months with 2 remaining after 13 months.

I have since found out that soil master select is no longer available and has been replaced with pc select. Which the manufacturer states is the same exact stuff.

But charcoal (black) is no longer available. But I when ahead or ordered 4 50 pound bags of the red (supplier says is a light pink or flesh colored). Not a big deal as they were only $8/bag.

here is assay

I am going to experiment to see what happens with a planted FW and refugium for marine.

What you'll think?

So is this pretty much the same as soilmaster select then? Give it a shot and let us know how it works out Seems like another substrate we can add to the collection of substrates used.
