In my next scape I will be using Seachem black sand, along with pool filter sand. The plan is to use the black sand on the sides with the pool sand down the middle, like a river.
So what are some good methods of keeping the sand permenantly separated?... I've thought about using cut up milk jugs, lawn edging or petrified wood. But I'm think with the p wood that it would leave some open space causing the two sands to get mixed. I would like to use something that I could just leave in and not have to remove.

Thanks for the reply... I just saw where John posted about Renaud's After the Rain thread where he used plastic. I'm just wondering what is the exact plastic he is using & how does he keep it in place. I guess that's a good question to ask him
