I've decided to take the plunge and buy some Aquasoil for my latest project. ADGshop.com recommends 4 bags for my 75 gallon. Is this enough? Do I need the powder also and if so how do I use it correctly?

I talked to Tom Barr earlier and based on our conversation I went ahead and ordered 5 bags of Aquasoil for now. I can always get more later if I need it. From what I've read, the cycling is going to take a several weeks to complete so I want to get it started right away.

practicalfishkeeping.co.uk has a nifty substrate calculator that can estimate the amount of substrate based on your aquarium dimensions, average substrate height and also type of substrate ( for ADA aquasoil i use "clay or laterite"
pretty accurate but you have to register (free) to use the tool. hope this helps ![]() |
