Could you help me identify these local shrimps that we have right here in the Philippines..please.

Looks like some kind of ghost shrimp.


BTW, I have gone to Phillipines to Baguio and have seen the pictures of the beaches of Cebu...very nice.

They kind of look like the Rednosed shrimp, but I don't think that's the exact ID.

From what I have heard, There are many, many varieties of "Ghost" shrimp and it looks like you have one of them. Just a guess though.

That's a very nice little shrimp you have there, no matter what it is. I like the red markings. Is it a good algae eater?

Thanks Milac. You should visit Cebu. Bring Seachem Flourish...lol it's not available here or anywhere in the Philippines. Yes, i think these are variations of ghost shrimps.

Sometimes there are some that looks like rhino shrimps John. But there color sometimes would be darker or intense depends on temperature and lighting.

I think you are right Roy.

Trenac, they are great algae eaters, within hours, no more hair algae and they eat leftover foods too.
