Try some Tetras or Rasboras. It sould work well. However, all small peaceful schooling fish could be fine.

Tetras will kill shrimp
I keep~
Blue & red form Axelrodi rasboras{there are a bunch of nice small ones}
Octocinclus
Habrosus & Pygmy Corydoras
Hara Jerdoni-mini moth catfish
Dwarf Puffer
Scarlet badis
Kuhli loach

Threadfin rainbowfish are also supposedly ok.

The only fish considered 100% shrimp safe is the octocinclus.

I have a school of Neon tetras ( Paracheirodon innesi) and some Rummy-Nose Tetras(Hemigrammus rhodostomus) as well as Otos, and never have had any problem with shrimps. Needed to say that the most important thing for shrimps is to provide them enough safe places to hide and take a rest, no matter what fishes you have in a tank... Otherwise, Otocinclus and Cories will be good tank mates...

Cheers,

If your shrimp fits in the fish mouth, it can potentially eat them. Keep your fish well feed and you can keep with them:

-Small tetras like embers
-Boraras and small rasboras
-Cories
- Pseudomugil (rainbows)
- small danios
- endlers
- otos
- orizyas

Pat, I forgot to mention I have them in with some Cinnamon Gourami's also and some Dwarf Crays. When I first put Cherries in with the Ameca Splendens I was pretty worried about them being munchies but the little guys are growing in numbers. I believe the saying "If a fish can get something in it's mouth, it'll eat it". Cherries reproduce so well that a few fish snacks here and there won't hurt your population once they get comfortable, though if anyone disagrees with this please speak up. LOL

Take care

Darlene

I've had good luck with these shrimp safe fish:

Octocinclus
Endlers (bigger females will go after the newborn shrimp sometimes)
Corycats (smaller species).

just have a quick question about this topic (not meaning to hijack the thread tho)..

in terms of keeping shrimps with fish, which would you introduce into the tank first - shrimps or fish?

Same here. I even see shrimplets in the (kind of) open parts of the tank from time to time. And juvie shrimp hang out while the Danios swim around.
