Default Good deals anywhere?

Does anyone know of any good deals on aquarium lights for use in Europe anywhere? I found a shop on Ebay delivering to Australia only that was dead cheap, but have not found anything similiar in Europe...

aquaristic.net is a German shop that has a lot too choose from, both tube lights and metal halide, but the brands they have are quite expensive (Arcadia, Bresslein, Giesemann etc.)

Here in Norway the prices for such brands are ridiculous so Germany is a lot cheaper, but still quite pricey.

Appreciate tips for shops and good products!!

Hi Absolutatle

I am not sure what you have got in mind, but for tube lights I have found
this GLO T5HO Linear Lighting System 24W 58-101cm, Double at UKPetSupplies.com
or this GLO T5HO Linear Lighting System 39W 89-132cm, Double at UKPetSupplies.com
or this GLO T5HO Linear Lighting System 54W 118-162cm, Double at UKPetSupplies.com
depends on your tank size,

for metal halide try
this http://www.roslinyakwariowe.pl/sklep...et-p-4427.html
or this http://www.roslinyakwariowe.pl/sklep...et-p-4428.html
or this http://www.roslinyakwariowe.pl/sklep...et-p-3177.html, also depend on the size.

For metal halide lamps prices are shown in polish currency and exchange rate against euro for today is about 3.30zl for 1.00euro. This site has not english version, but they do ship abroad and they speak english. You can contact them by email shopping@roslinyakwariowe.pl, see more info here RoslinyAkwariowe.pl ™ Serwis Ro?lin Wodnych i Akwariowych (SRWiA) - akwarium OptiWhite - ro?liny akwariowe - Sklep Internetowy

I did not found cheaper stuff.

Try these guys
eBay UK Shop - EQJ-Trading: Halide lamps, T5 lamps, External filters

Or the German version of the same ebay store here

eBay Shop - Aquaristik-Direkt: Wir verkaufen HQI Lampen, Leuchtmittel Zu, Filter Filtermaterial, T5 P2 Lampen, Leuchtmittel.

I bought nearly all of my lighting units at auction from these guys, I have not had any problems with the lighting units, my only complaint would be that some of the leg stands could be better, other than that though the lighting units are good quality IMHO, the prices are hard to beat.

Edit: I forgot to mention, personally I would swop out the supplied bulbs on the T5 units, I found them poor for growing plants, just a personal opinion you understand, you may be happy with them.

Just double check the light you are interested in suits your requirements from the ebay links I added, some of them are switchable, some of them are not. Some may require all tubes to be lit at the same time which may not suit you. All of the light units used to be switchable from this seller, you could have 1,2,3 or 4 tubes etc. on or off, but now some of them come without switches which means all tubes are lighting at the same time.

The MH units are switchable, so you can run the MH separately from the T5s. Just double check the T5s light units in the specs he provides, the smaller 60cm ones are all switchable AFAIK.
