Hi everybody,
I'm Cristian Savu and I'm from Oradea (Romania). I hurd about your online aquascaping magazine and I have to say that this magazine is great. I saw few aquariums on this forum and many aquascapers do a great job. Well I'll show you here my poor aquarium. I have only 16 years and I don't have enough money to have a great aquariums with ADA products but I have following plants in this aquarium:Cabomba furcata Echinodorus osiris Nymphaea stellata Anubias nana var "Petite" Hemianthus callitrichoides Cuba Hemianthus micranthemoides Althernathera reinekii ![]() This is not the final look of the aquarium. I'll offer to somebody my echinodorus, nyphaea stellata, cabomba furcata and on the rocks i'll keep the Hemianthus micranthemoides, while in the front I'll keep the Hemianthus callitrichoides Cuba. Even tou don't see those hemianthus ,(because I had some problems with ph and they almost died), I'm waiting to receive 4 pots from Germany in the following weeks. Here we don't have many plants species and we have to use only common plants like echinodorus, cabomba, anubias, elodeea, ceratopteris. PS. Sorry for my English |

Welcome to ASW,
You don't necessarily need ADA products to have a nice tank, any ferts will work if you know how to dose them. ![]() Your tank looks pretty good, deep, and off to a great start. I hope the new plants like HC will do well in your gravel. Just remember to add some ferts to the water column. -John N.

the gravel has 1-2 mm. I'll probably buy one Amazonia Aqua Soil bag from germany soon. The situation is so 'cool' because now in my town we have only sera florena which is not so great. It's true that I can have nice tanks with any ferts, but nobody could compare the results obtained with ADA products with results obtained with other ferts.
I've forgot to say that my brother is living in New Jersey and he sent me an big package with Seachem ferts (Florena, Iron, Phsosphorus, Potassium, Trace, Nitrogen) and I hope they will arrive soon ![]() PS. If I have big English writing problems, please note me to correct them in the future. |

Hello Cristian Savu ... Welcome to ASW
![]() I think you will be pleased with Seachem line of ferts that your brother is sending to you. You really don't need top of the line tanks, equipment, substrate & ferts to make a very nice planted tank. It more or less has to do with the aquascaper behind it all. |

I'm just curious to find which are the results obtained with high class products. It's true that anybody could make great aquascapes with low budget but not if you like plants like HC. I saw few great aquascapes with low light requirements plants like Chow Wai Sun's aquarium (Best of Show at AGA 2007).

Cristian, welcome to ASW. Low or high budget is not the most important thing. IMO, all you need is talent, knowledge and patience in order to have a lot of success and personal satisfaction in AquaScaping. Therefore, just go ahead.

Hi again for everybody.
well my biggest problem is the co2 equipment. is this essential in plant growing because I don't have so much money to buy an complete system (350 Euro). Like I said I'll use just high class fertilizer, light and substrates, but are these enough to grow HC? My aquarium has only 23 US Gallons. |
