Default Black verse White Backgrounds

I've always used black backgrounds for my aquascapes, more to hide the my filter equipment than anything else. But in general is it better to have a black background verse white background? How do you decide which background to use?

I always try to have a black background. But I've considered gradient blue backgrounds.

I like those too! But my favorite are the 'ADA aqua screen', whatchamacallit?

These all look good in my book!

Tom, do you keep the white background back-lit throughout the day or only for photo shoots?

I've always prefer dark backgrounds, either black or blue. I think that it reflects the look of depth, which I like.

I prefer black backgrounds but i've seen some tanks that has white backgrounds and to me it looks great. I think it really just depends on what kind of scape your doing and what kind of plants you using in the scape.
