I need help. there is this white slime all over/throughout my tank that appeared there over night!
I did have a little diy co2 mixture that leaked into the tank, but I changed the water. Should I just keep on changing water because I have changed like 200%-300% this week? I am afraid it will end my tank. There are also a lot of bubbles coming from the substrate. |

I believe its yeast from the DIY.
Does it smell like yeast? I'm not sure what is the best way to solve the issue, but you might need some chemicals to eradicate the yeast.

No, it does not smell like yeast, but it smells like the fermenting yeast/co2 mixture mixed with a pond.
I am so lost and upset.![]() Someone please help me figure out what the problem is and fix it. Thanks! -kakkoii |

Eeks, that stinks (literally).
If your DIY CO2 spilled out, the best course of action is to do lots and lots of water changes as you have been doing. The yeast will eventually die off with no more sugar to consume. Wipe off the driftwood film between water changes.-John N.

I had some slime in a nano tank, it was fungus from the driftwood (despite of the fact that I boiled it and brushed it like mad, lol), it eventually disappeared by itself without harming plants or fish.
Good luck.

After receiving advice from various forums, I followed it, and much to my surprise I checked my tank(after 1.5 days with no light)and the slime was floating at the top! Now I just have to skim it.
