Just wondering if there was a place where you could buy this stone in N. America..
I love the look of the aquascapes I have seen in the Iwagumi style.. |

I have not gotten mine yet, and they are not the same as the ones offered by ADA, but this guy hand picks rocks out of the Nevada desert around Las Vegas I beleive.
I ordered two boxes full, they are $25 per box shipped and he stuffs as much as he can fit in one of the USPS Flat Rate boxes that are 12" x 8" x 6". And From what Roy Deki and others have posted, he packages Really well and wraps the big rocks in foam wraping and fills every nook and cranny with smaller rocks. He will ask you the tank size and what size rocks you want and will go for that as best he can and he says "I pick the rocks as if I were going to put them in my tank". This could be a good cheaper option for you to get some Really nice rocks (again, have not gotten mine yet, but everyone who has that posted back in this thread says they are STUNNING and AWESOME). What sized tank are you scaping? Here is the thread FS - South Western Lava Rock - For Sale or Trade - Aquatic Plant Central HTH

I recognize that image.
![]() Head over to your local Japanese Garden Shops, particularly ones that specialize in Bonsai gardens. You can find Seiryu-seki and ohno rocks there for pretty cheap. Well, cheaper then what you would pay for them at the ADA places. I'm lucky to have a japanese shop that's right across the street from Aqua Forest Aquarium (the ADA store in San Francisco). Ended up saving up to $3 dollars per pound on the same rocks. -John N.

![]() Not many Japanese Garden Shops in Canada, never mind local ones.. LOL Guess if there's no takers, I'll just have to go into the mountains and river beds around here and have a look.. |
