Default 3g CUBE

im starting a 3 gallons cube. I want to make a real nice aquascaping I want to re create a small forest, make 1 or 2 trees with moss and driftwood, make variations in elevation of substrate, make the "sun light" in the background.

I have the plants, java moss, peacock moss, utricularia (very little) dwarf hair grass, tenellus, HM, few stem and glosso.

I have some ideas in my mind, I will make 2 or 3 drawing.

This forum have a list of tiny plants for nanos?

How I can make diferents elevations of substrate and mantain it that the gravel not going to put itself flat

The project sounds very ambitious, but doable.

There currently isn't a list of nano growing plants, but your plant list is a good selection already. But perhaps the HC is a better choice then glosso.

As for making sloping substrates, check out this thread about best substrates to keep a slope there are some good ideas there.

Your scape is going to be nice.

Hi, maybe this list of "nano plants" can be helpful.

A graph on the right side of the plant name shows advisable position in layout.

tankyou John and Rastaman.

Im going to use rocks, because here not sell aqua soil. I only can make small slopes with low inclination.

The tank is for competition and I want to make it very well.

Im going to use a spiral fluorecent bulb. the smallest is 14W. I think that it is high light for the cube, what you think that be a good watts for 3 gallons?

from your list of plants and sketch, i would use layout No. 2..however, adjust the 2 trees so that one becomes the focus point. Make one smaller than the other is one way. for the ground plants i'd go with a combination of uticularia (foreground), dwarf hairgrass (midground) and tenellus (background)...

lighting wise i think 14W is not sufficient for a 3g...Amano uses 27W on his nanos. you might want to use 2x14W bulbs for yours. Instead of spiral try to look for U type. They make it up to 23W if you have space constraints...just make sure you have a good reflector

for maintaining a slope you might want to try this method (scroll down a bit..reading the whole article is not a bad idea tho).

just my 0.02

I like the second one the best also. I would also do what akmal said about making one of the trees the focal point.

Adadama is made of clay material that will effect your KH and GH. From experiences I've read, it doesn't cause algae blooms..

thanks john!

fishman I dont make the tank, I bought it from the competition. One of the competition rules is to use only the 3G CUBE that they sells. I bought it and included the inscription. I like the tank lot is my first time with tank of this class.
