Thanks fishman,Chadly, and Pat! The lighting I have on the ten gallon will be used, a 2 X 24 wt T-5 Nova extreme. I am planning on pressurized CO2 this time though, so I have a feeling the lights may need to be upgraded. I was thinking of a 4 light 30" T-5 from Catalina Aquariums. It comes with german individual reflectors, choice of bulbs, and has two switches. So if 96 wts is too much all day I could play with it...maybe a mid-day burst.
Pat..that is Sheba, my girl.
here's a pic from yesterday..
She is a very happy bird, we just got that double macaw cage a few months ago, and she loves it compared to what she had.

The name below the photo is who I ordered it from. $30 shipped!
I thought that was an awesome deal. I have ordered another light, so I will have two on it when I transfer everything from the ten gal. When it arrives I will start planting.

Hi Pat.. I don't know how long it's going to take until it gives up the tannins. It has a lot! As soon as I am satisfied that it will sink and not color the water, I can start. My second light should be here tomorrow too. Soon, very soon..this will all come together.
