Thanks Chadly. I have been told my hardscape will disappear, once plants grow. That I should elevate the wood using the stone. I will work on it some more today. My original plan was to move everything from the ten gal into the 20. Now I am thinking I want to be a little more selective. I have not come up with anything definite with regards to what plants yet. Let me get the HS right first..lol.

Some of it was from when I tried to just float the wood, but alot of that color came before the wood was added..just from the substrate. I have plants! All kinds...waiting on a light, it should be here today. I will plant it, continue to monitor the ammonia, and then everyone can be moved into their new home.

The newest arrangement of driftwood looks pretty good. I would try to arrange the wood (specifically on the right side) so it opens up to a V shape. This way there would be a greater focus on the sandy river and bring harmony to the scape. Right now I feel like the wood has fallen over randomly in a storm.
![]() Plantwise, It's a bit early since some aren't grown fully yet, but you'll find grouping similar species together would add a greater visual impact then a few strands here and there. There's lots of potential for this scape, especially with the nice sandy river, good hardscape placement, and good wood selection. Any plans for a background for the tank i.e black, white cardboard? -John N.

Thanks Kakkoii & John. I was hoping you would respond John, I know you have an eye for this. The right side I feel has been my problem side. The left side came together so easily, but the right has just not felt good.
Background I will work on once I get this right..little baby steps. I also want to cut the intake so it's less obtrusive. What do you think now, better? ![]() One more change, I think this is it! Now the right side is not so weak as it was. ![]() Last edited by waterfaller1; 05-15-2008 at 03:48 PM. |
