Default 2.5g Low maintenance

I started this tank right before the holidays and I don't really tend to it other than to dose excel daily, at about double the recommended dose. I don't like the stems or hairgrass in there, I added them to see if they would take (they did not.) I'd appreciate any suggestions to make it look better. Sorry if the photographs aren't the best. Plants are Utricularia graminifolia and Taxiphyllum sp.

Haha yes, I actually forgot that was there. I planted a small riccia stone about 2 weeks ago, that helps show how slow everything is going in this tank. I like it though, in time I hope to see the ug grow into the area where the moss stones are. I will remove them as it grows in and eventually the tank will be covered by ug.

Update: Disaster strikes

I'm not sure what happened, but while I was away this weekend my tank died. My cpds were all cooked and the UG is melted away. The water was pretty cloudy, and I think everything is dead, save for the moss. I did a 100% wc, but I'm pretty certain that I was too late to save it. I'm pretty bummed, things were going real well up until this weekend.

I'm hoping that the UG can make a come back, some of the leaves look like they are still ok, but the majority are melted and translucent.
