Default 12"x10"x8" Gumi (14 litre)

This is my first true "scape" and it's been up and running since the end of March this year.

The stats are:

Tank: Opti White 12"x10"x8"
Filtration: Fluval 105
Lighting: 11w Dennerle Overtank Nano Light
Substrate: Aquasoil Amazonia powder
Ferts: Tropical Plant Nutrition Plus (TPN+) 0.5ml Per Day
CO2: Dennerle Nano CO2 Kit
Hardscape: Mini Landscape rocks
Flora: Hemianthus micranthemoides, Hemianthus callitrichoides 'Cuba', Eleocharis parvula
Fauna: Sundadanio Axelrodi sp. blue, Red Cherry Shrimp

The original hardscape:

Early days after planting...

A view from the sofa after about a month...

A few photos since then...

I took a two week holiday and so the tank is still recovering from the lack of upkeep.

I'm trimming the HC regularly and trying to get the HM at a nice bush effect behind each rock.

Either way, I really enjoy looking after this tank, learning how to cope with plants at this scale and learning how to trim plants to how I want them to look.

Plus I'm learning how to take photos with my bridge camera and seem to be getting the hang of it.

Happy days...

Yes, it's only in there on super cold nights. That shot was to show people what it's like day-to-day.
If I needed to use it all the time, I'd get an inline one.

Yup, they're sure are. Thanks.
I'm making sure I do at least one water change per week but try and do two in a week.

Thanks James.
The HC grows well, I'm starting to trim it ever other week to try and get it to fill in. It can grow upwards ok, it's just not filling outwards. I was dosing EasyCarbo before, but have seen a massive change when I moved to pressurised co2.
That said, the hairgrass grows like a weed!

I recently changed from dosing TPN+ daily to an DIY all-in-one solution and the results have been amazing. Growth has increased massively and everything is moving to a lush green.

I've started trimming the HC and HM every two weeks, I trimmed too much from my hairgrass about a month ago and it's taking a while to grow back. Whooops.

A few photos:

I added weeping moss:

Really nice tank, great job.
My question is 'where do you people get your rocks?' I live in Calif. so a shop name wont help but do you buy them at the local shop or order from ADA? Thanks I have been rock hunting as of late and it seems hard to order on line because who knows what you'll get?
thanks

Thanks.

I'm lucky that the ADA stones are available through my LFS in England under "Mini Landscape Rocks", so I popped down everytime they had a delivery. I also got a good bunch from Aqua Essentials.

Although I must say that I've had previous bad experiances buying wood online, so I need to trust the online retailer 100% before buying any hardscape.

So, things have been going swimmingly recently, HC filling in, HM growing and the weeping moss crawling across the rock.

Just trying to learn how to cope with trimming and training plants, I'm getting there with the HC, stuff that's been going well (was close to the diffuser previously) is carpeting nicely (right front corner) the rest is getting there.

I'm enjoying this tank, even though it's been going for 6 months or so!

Hi, nice work, but under my experience you need more light, the HC not grows well.
