Default saintly's LFS display (iwagumi)

On to the next LFS display. it's to be another iwagumi style, but with low light plants.....i think.

so to the rock layout.

my first attempts basicly set the "bones" of the scape...

After a play about, the final layout is complete.

The foreground is NOT to be planted. i plan to use moss, tenellus, acicularis and crypts SP. with the emphasise on the detailed foreground.

many thanks

mark

Looks promising indeed! Where did you get that smaller gravel in front of the big stones? It looks very natural...going from big to very tiny sand.

I love the mixing of different textures and sizes of the sand/grains/gravel. It looks very natural.

I loved the first scape more.

Right hand Main Rock looking too much pointed vertical. You can give a thought using a smaller rock at Right hand and move the focal point to left main rock.

here's a slight adjustment. I'm not getting into the whole...change this stone move that left....deal.

there maybe a change of focal stone if i can find the right one.

You really ROCK! Nice work man. I like the invisible arch that is between the main rocks. And i can only agree about keeping the planting simple and tidy, just a light touch of green and itīs a masterpiece.

thanks kimmpa.

i've gone through one or 2 changes. and i'll follow with images showing the hardscape process.

I dont like that the gaps under the right & left main stone is gone, i like it more when the stones was "hanging on the edge". But thats just my onpinion. My favorite is the scape in the first pic, itīs the most dramatic and the invisible arch is still there.

You have an excellent eye for natural form Mark, a very well balanced hardscape.
How did you acheive that excellent backlight effect, with the white fade to blue?
What substrate have you used at the front?

Cheers James

yes its P helferi. and yes, i don't like it.

i've grown it before with good success, I just thought I'd try it again to remind myself why I don't like it....it looks unnatural IMO, but time will tell if it works in this tank.
