My right corner is going to be a challenge! I've got tennellus runners all over the place, the HC is doing what it should, the marsilea sprouting out and e acicularis spreading....pretty soon it's going to merge let it grow out?.....see what happens kinda a deal i guess!

Here's yesterday before trim....

and here's today after yesterdays trim...

the Alternanthera reineckii was trimmed 2 days before...it had reached the top

The left and right side stems should be due a haircut just after the weekend

Tenellus runners never spread the way you want them to keep an eye on them
Looking realy good so far.

I have found something similar to NatureSoil that is less expansive. Might be from the same manufactorer as NatureSoil only sold under another name. Will test it in my next nano and report on it Found it as I was looking for NatureSoil in Germany.

Hehe
I will test this one first and report on it as soon as possible.
There is only one guy who sells that in Germany and he is a real plant guru, this stuffs comes from asia. The soil has no real name but it should be as good as NatureSoil, maybe from the same manufacturer somewhere in asia ..
If this "new" soil do the job for me I will do a deal with aquaessentials and earn a lot of money .. lol

this coming weekend see's trimming of stems. previously I'd trimmed some of them. Alternanthera reineckii, eustralis stellata and r rotundifolia were the first to hit the surface, so they were trimmed one week ago and are now growing back.

a few images....the tank @ almost 3 weeks old!

from 2 weeks old...

thanks james. it's the best i've kept. usuaklly even in my well maintained tanks i allways get some kind of GSA on the leaves. but in this tank the leaves have stayed perfect. and the new ones are like plastic, similar to underwater crypts.

maybe due to variety of anubias?....

the red focal stem is now producing underwater leaves after being trimmed and they are deeop red and also look plastic.

in answer to your question jur4ik, there is no algae not even on glass. a little in lilly pipe.

very hi CO2 and 2 x normal EI dosing is keeping algae away

here's a close image of the anubias, notice the clean leaves. a couple of other image stoo.

thanks everyone.

good to know Mark,
Well I´m still on the way for my next nano, maybe you like to comment on the hardscape?

Your anubias realy look like plastic, even plants you get from stores doesnt look that healthy!
Did you trimm your Alternatera reneicki or replanted the heads?

it grew real quick, once it reached the top i cut to the height of the anubias, throw the heads away. now from each stem 2 new crowns grow. same with all stems.

That's very interesting that you are getting almost no algae with such high lighting levels. I wonder if the MH lamps output a higher proportion of UV light, that could help reduce algae or perhaps under such bright lights even anubias grows quick enough to avoid GSA. Is the anubias growing faster than usual?

Cheers James

yes, the anubias is growing quicker than any i've had before.

i think it might be the height of the lamp.especially MH.

i hear that the higher it gets the light spread is better, and the plants use different parts of the light thats given off and then science looses me.

TBH i'm not really sure apart from the fact there growing well. i get flowers often on anubias, so it would be joy to see them on these

Finished product looks great. Can I ask you what the photo specs are on the shot from yesterday with the the title "Autumn Blush" underneath. Are you using extra light as well.

thanks J house, not quite finished yet though. the lighting on that images is just the MH. i've boosted highlight contrast in RAW editing to get that blown out look.

i've just completed the first major trim....
