Around 50 US cents per piece... think can get it much cheaper from farms

Just wanna share with you guys something I discovered in Japan. A range of products for beginners by ADA called Do!aqua. Apparently all the products are a lot "friendlier" to the wallet take these glassware for example. The 12mm diameter Lily Pipe Outflow is selling at 3,570 Yen (US$35) and the 12mm Inflow is US$39. The design is slightly different but quality feels the same. Maybe these are Made In China (not stated in packaging).

It will be great if they are to export this sub-brand

Thanks Brian! Those are the floating plants I added to help with nutrients extraction. Already moved them to another container.

My red stem turns green at the bottom too

What is the plant trying to tell me?

yes seems difficult plant. I have the normal Alternanthera reineckii it is the most difficult plant of all my plants. It going good and growing slow but stop growing and turn brown and die. my water chemistry is good I think that is potassium defisiency.

Your plants are green in the bottom but still growing!!! try to make a "bush" with the plants

Your red plant looks like Rotala macrandra narrow leaf. I have some that grows just as red becoming more green as it matures. Plants look healthy to me.

Hello,
I believe the plant you got it's Rotala rotundifolia and not macandra.

Regards,

Joe Faria.

I'm not so sure about that....rotundifolia only shows up pink at the most, and never has such a bold transition in color from red to green. IME this looks most like macrandra narrow. Also, under this high of light the rotundifolia would be showing aerial roots and signs of wanting to creep.

mmm, you are saying that the Rotala macandra narrow need heavy, heavy light to have only red colors?

I don't think I said that...I was mostly commenting on the change from green to red. To me, it is apparent that the plant was grown in different conditions, some that lead to greener growth and some that lead to redder growth(current tank conditions). Also, in these tank conditions rotundifolia and macrandra have different growing characteristics - rotundifolia will want to creep.
There are many things that can influence how red it will get - light, phosphate, nitrate, and iron levels.

I am enjoying your journal. I love all the ADA, especially the pipes. Good job!
