Default what is the darkest moss?

I am asking opinions on what the darkest color moss you guys have found, suited to attaching to wood. I don't want to go for the easy option of java moss if there is something darker green out there.

Thanks,

P.P.

IMO it is sometimes dependant on conditions.

You could look at fissidens, peacock moss and christmas moss. A nice dark moss is also flame moss.

Hi Princess,

Sticky/dark type mosses are usually from the Taxiphyllum genus and also some Fissidens. If you grow it in low light it turns darker IME.

I recommend Fountain moss-Fissidens fontanus. There's a list here for you to refer to. Aquamoss and also perhaps a very detailed discussion here-Killies dot com-men who love their mosses

Hi!
the coloration of different mosses, is relationship with the light intentensity and probably, the nutrients (but the light seems more direct effect in this)
when the intensity is low, the color is more darker in many cases

Saludos!
