Hi,

Like a normal stem plant...
It is indeed a weed under very bright light.

Regards,

Joe Faria.

Orlando,

I am recovering from cancer surgery and my fish are my therapy. Would love to try some live plants and would love some of this "weed" if you want to get rid of some. I can help with the shipping cost.

Im very sorry Allen, I recently gave a 5 gallon bucket full away. For me this plant grows very fast and must be tamed weekly or twice a week. If I come across some more I will let you know asap.

Best Regards, Orlando

I had some of this and it the leaves shrunk to about 1/8" of an inch. What kind of nutrient deficiency would that be?

I have some Mayaca and it just will not grow well in the 5g with daily ferts dosing, CO2 and good light. It turns almost white and doesn't grow.

However in the 1 gallon beta tank with a 9w CF, random ferts and no CO2 it turns a deep bright green and grows thick and lush and like mad.

*shrug*

I have had great success growing Mayaca in Flourite with 3 wpg and CO2. It grew so fast for me that I was trimming every 2 weeks. Mine looked just like the pics provided by Fikus.
