Default Tennelus

I'm wondering if you can trim the tops of it?

Or does that kill the plant?

I want a nice, compact "lawn", but this is how I got this tennelus (installed 2 weeks ago). A bit long in the tooth..

I think that if you cut it it will yellowing at the top...
Tennellus is known to require a lot of light to grow compact... how many light did you have?

Yeah, well, like I say, this is the way it came from the supplier..

It hasn't really grown much since I started my tank 2 weeks ago.

Some have put out runners, though..

I have 220w, or 3.9wpg of T-5.

It's quite normal id doesn't grow to much for some time after you bought it (enviroment change shock). Some times it lost the major part of leaves before restarting.

With 3.9 wpg and CO2 and the right fertilization you'll have a good carpet...

Again when you trim it You get a burned border on the top of cut. Like with some other plants. The only plant of that type that, in my (little) experience, doesn't suffer this problem is eleocharis acicularis.

I think once the tank is more established I'll experiment and trim one plant and see what happens..

Thanks for the feedback!
