I've been using my 18-55mm for the fish tank. I think I've been somewhere in the middle with my full tank pics.

You need to use either a lot of light or a studio strobe system on top of the tank, and probably a dark ambient environment to capture aquariums well. A good tripod and ability to shoot on Timer is also a must. |
