Please discuss and comment on Kristoffer Willerslev Jørgensen's article, on "Ryoboku Aquascape: The Beginnings" here.

Very good step-by-step setup!
![]() Looking forward to see it when it has grown in... You know I would like to see some longer pieces of driftwood closer to the middle. ![]() Is it narrow leaf or usual ferns?

Its narrow leaf. I have some special bolbitis that im thinking of using.
The point with the dw is that i want 3 big narrowleafs as focalpoints, and then use some bolbitis as a soft transition between the middle and the back.

George - I just recieved a XL Bolbitis heudelotii today. It looks ok, but it still needs to be converted to the submersed growth. When I get some time ill try to find the best parts and get it tied to the wood.
Im glad you raised the question John. I asked the same question some month ago, since Norbert Sabat mentioned it in a reference to Fumio Shiga in the All time Favorite Aquascapers tread. I googled his name and found some amazing good scaped. You can clearly see where i get my inspiration from: ![]() So - I asked the question, and found that Ryoboku simply ment driftwood (Japanese), or driftwood that is drifted onto the beach. So for me, Ryoboku is scape with mosgrown driftwood, or other slowgrowing plants. There are a lot of huge Ryoboku scapes in the ADA gallery. Some day I want a giant all glass tank with only mosses, ferns and driftwood...
