what size is it?
I wanted to start with altums too but I´m scared my tank might be not tall enough for them...

Sorry for the delay folks! I have been swamped with all kinds of stuff. First the holidays, then my sisters plain crashed in Jamaica. She has been all over the news as of late.
I have had no time to take any photos but will in the coming new year.

The tanks is 120G at 24" Tall. The Altums are very happy and beg me for food every day

Stay tuned folks!

-Orlando

I do not dare ask for more pics

I had a 120 Gal. 4X2X2 foot with portholes on the top.....3/8 in.....It cracked across the top from my lighting.

Orlando, Yours is sweet and a much better design.
Good Luck and Thank You for Sharing

Roger

Yeah, I dont think she will fly any time soon. The 737 broke in 3 places, jet fuel all over people. No deaths I dont think, but lots of injured folks.

Wow. I missed that plane crash story over Christmas. How lucky it was that no one was killed. I am glad to hear that your sister is OK. Flying back home again from Boston was spooky after that thing that happened on the flight from Amsterdam.

I look forward to seeing shots of this tank. Those are such cool fish that you got.

I'm glad too everybody's alive!

Well, back to topic: please advice on my tank size if it would be enough for altum angels
120cm x 60cm x 60cm
approximately 430 liters and how many altums I can keep in there, because i'm a bit confused as everybody tells different.
Thanks in advance!

Ps: hungry for pictures
pps: still waiting for reply concerning last private msg

24" Deep is a decent depth, I would go no less for these fish. You could do probably about 6 in that tank.

I will get pics soon!!

I also will get back to that PM Sorry about that delay

Hi Orlando, what distance do you have from the lightning fixture to the bottom of the tank?

BTW Jur4ik, the tank size that you are thinking is good enough some friends of mine keep adult altums in tanks of about 250 gal as long as it is minimum 100++L x 60h x 50w is good enough, but be aware that altums grow 90% on their first year! and goes about 35 cm height so for 114 gal would be good enough for 6 but thinking of course would be planted I would suggest you just 5, I hope it helps.

thanks Orlando and EFM for the Advice with Altums,
I already have some experience with Discus but I´m absolutely new into Altums.

The Hardscape in the tank mentioned above is already sitting, there will be about 90% open space in this tank. I will soon start a journal at this one.

Happy New Year!!!

Hello Orlando. I am going to do a similar size optiwhite tank for our office and was thinking to drill the bottom and install the filter inlets outlets similar to yours. Could you give more details about whats needed, how to seal the connectors and how do you clean them.
A photo of inside of your cabinet would be nice.
Kind regards,
Edward.
