Default The Desperado Trail

With this tank i was participate on AAC - 10th place in Nano category

The majestic Velebit is the largest and, for natural phenomena, the richest Croatian mountain. Protected as nature park and extending to 2000 km2 in are, it is by far the largest protected area in Croatia, largest than all the other put together.
Within the nature park it is a whole range of smaller protected areas, including two national parks Northern Velebit and Paklenica.
The name of layout came from the past, actually it is the name of the German western about Winnetou filmed on that locations.

I like the size and choice of plants. Only using moss and riccardia was a good idea.
How old is the scape? And how about ferts - using so few plants and that type could'nt work with a normal rutine?

The sence of scale is amazing, it looks like the tank would be at least 90cm long.
Congrats on your contest placement.

Cheers James

It is unbelievable that you only obtained the 10th position with this tank!!!
The judges were sleeping during the judging or don't know a bit of aquascaping...

Keep up the good work!

Hi guys, thanks for yours sincere comments!

I started this scape in April last year. At the beginning, I had a problems with moss acclimatization. When they finally acclimatize, high summer temperatures wase all my efforts, and moss started to stagnate again.

Fortunately i didn't had any algae problems, and maintenance was quite simple - just regular water change once a week with 5 l of water.
There was no need to even trim the moss, so for that reason, it's my favorite tank so far.
Guillermo, thanks for advertisement

Great as always,Rastaman ! The thing that I like the most is that it looks so simple and you can almost feel every touch of tweezers that planted it. Great job on imitating Velebit's nature. That mountain is my inspiration in many things olso. For example, My nickname
