Default 72G - Controlled Fury

Haven't posted a setup in a while due to lack of time. With that in mind this setup contain no traditional stems that need constant pruning. It is mostly slow growers and plants that don't need regular trimming. Most of the maintenance iinvolves simply thinning the moss, cutting a java fern or african fern leaf here and there and keeping the sand clean. The pic below is 4 months after setup.

It reminds me of what i got in all my tanks right now - But yours is nicer

Is it both Microsorum pteropus sp. philipines and needleleaf?

I like the two "islands" and the branches with moss. The bolbitis is placed perfect and the 3 Microsorums gives good focalpoints.

Maybe a photo straight foreward? I like to see it closer

Well done.

Thanks for the comments.

Kristoffer:
Good eye, have both ferns in there with the pteropus sp. philipines occupying the upper middle section and the rest needleleaf. Yes, went for focal points with 3 needleleaf groupings. I'll see if I can get another pic up soon.

Jur4ik:
The entire background is Blyxa Japonica with the exception of the Cyperus helferi stems. I really wanted a bigger grouping of Helferi, but these take forever to acclimate and start growing.

Hey,

I really love the Layout! Its simply amazing!
Can you tell me the dimensions of the aqua? 260W is a lot of power!

Thanks for compliment. The tank is 48"X18"X22" (Actually 12" wide on sides, 18" in mid bowfront) Have 130watts most of the time, 260watts for 3 hours.

Updated Pic.

Not much change from list pic that was about 3 weeks ago. One reason I'm enjoying this tank is that there isn't much to do. No stems to really trim and all other plants are slow growers, although I'm surprised at how fast the java fern grows in good light/co2. The fact that the tank stays in control based on plant selection and the java fern still lending a furious look to it with it's long leaves trying to break out is what inspired the name.

Great, I really love this layout

It looks very natural without being a copy of a "Nature aquarium", plants choice is really good since shapes and colors match nicely and balance seems perfect to me.

Good job !

Mellonman:
Thanks for your commments. I appreciate what you have noticed.

Jur4ik & Padookie:
I know I have a few setup pictures. So I'll try to get those up soon.

Meanwhile, here's a current shot of the tank. I think the color and sharpness is alittle better in this one. Photography is so important in this hobby. This tank has a canopy on top so the only light used in these pics is the 260watts of CF lighting.
