Default 60cm - Black Sand Beaches of Wainapanapa

This layout was inspired by my visit to Maui. While in Maui, I visited Wainapanapa State Park along the Road to Hana. The park had breath taking black sand beaches. I used the images I captured while at the park to inspire this layout.

Inspiration

Capacity: 20 Gallons
Dimensions: 60x33x43
pH: 6.8
KH: 3
GH: 5

Lighting: 70 Watt Metal Halide

CO2: Pressurized C02 with diffuser

Nutrients: Maintain 1ppm of NO3, .1ppm of PO4, 1ppm of K, and dose 1ml micros daily

Substrate: Amazonia and Black Sand

Flora: Hemianthus Callitrichoides, Ludwigia brevipes, Eleocharis acicularis, Anubias barteri var. nana 'Petite'

Fauna: Hyphessobrycon griemi, Otocinclus, Caridina japonica

Hope you enjoy..

Hi!
I like it!! looks very original..and good use of the esferic rocks..
suggestion: maybe, the ludwigia brevipes is not neccesary for this layout...or can be replaced for Hemiantus micranthemoides or another plant with small leaves (but , is only a suggestion!)

Congrats,
Saludos!!

AMAZING. Beautiful, and I actually like the ludwigia, gives it a more wild, tropical look that small leaves wouldn't. I like seeing rounded pebbles in aquascapes, that's refreshing, new and actually good-looking.

have you taken the stone right from the beach?
I love this little spots of hairgrass in between the stones!

Thanks for all the replies

Gmo - I can absolutely see your point on the brevipes. I am so lazy about plants, and i really wasnt intending this to be a photo worthy layout so i didnt spend much time on a really good stem plant match.

ju4ik - No way, you cant take anything from Hawaii without risking this...

Thank you all for your comments and encouragement. I really appreciate it

Thanks for the comments

Usually the space an aquarium sits in really isnt that important, but i think this particular tank sits in a cool enough space to show a picture.

Here is my kitchen!!

It is so natural, almost like it have been taken directly from the nature I think this is a clear 5-points aquascape!

Jason,
do you use the sand originally from the beach? How do you treat the sand before you put it into your tank? I'm thinking of using a beach sand, but I don't what will be the effect. Please advise me on this.
