Во всяком случае, ни о каких новых тенденциях, закрепившихся в IAPLC этого года, речи явно не идет... translation First of all, I want to note that this is the work most frequently appeared on the screen of the hall, which was held ceremony. The occasion was a lot. First, this work was shown as included in the torus 27. Secondly, during performances of judges and of the Takashi Amano, the work won the personal comments. Thirdly, this work was awarded a special prize. But from whom exactly you need to be clarified. I can do that later, when I see a film recording of the ceremony again. What I remember from what was said - the words of Mr. Amano that is a strange work. Hall also reacted to it with emotions. Amano said that it was missing "life" and that if it add plants, it would have looked more natural (at least, such a translation had heard all English-speaking participants). And now to the statistics. David Boruchowitz (United States) - 193 points gave first place to this layout. Takashi Amano estimated it to score lower - at 192 points (In this case the maximum point, Mr. Amano handed Nguyen Tien Dungu - 199 points). Karen Randal from the United States gave her though not the first place, but 198 points. SM Kochetov (Russia) also praised it, giving 189 points (the maximum number of points Sergei Mikhailovich by 35 paper - 193 points). Really the aquascape shocks (considering its position in world ranking). Perhaps there is reason to think of looking for a new wave? ... Everything would be so if not for the Grand Prix for classic frankly, rubbed-into-holes plot with "Golden Ratio". Here I am simply not prepared to analyze and draw conclusions. In any case, no new trends, entrenched in IAPLC this year, the speech is clearly not going ... |

That tank was awarded from a special prize from the visual artist Takashi Murakami. He is a well extimated artist, expecially from mr. Amano.
![]() If I understood correctly the translation during the party (glad to know I was not the only one with some difficult with it...) mr. Murakami told something about the fact that tank looks like a fantascientific landascape. Mr Amano told something about the fact that tank looks like the old Imperial style aquarium of the past centuries. Please Robert (Shadow) or anyone was at the Party, correct me if you remeber something different, I'm sure you managed the translation better then me. Ciao |

LOL.
Withering moss and brown algae very visible. I love this tank-it's spectacularly different but it's also not a very 'planted'. It probably pisses off everybody else who strives to make their tanks spotless and their plants fat, vibrant and healthy. [what am I saying? I'm one of them]I have more thoughts about the judges, not the tanks/participants because we all did our part. We sent it to be judged and some of them were JUDGED and some of them were not. Here's why, some of the judges you can see clearly did not judge- all top 100 tanks were not separated clearly as they were all within 10-15 points! C'mon, we can tell there's at least 50pts difference between the 1st and the 100th. Even if we can't come to that conclusion we should at least spend some time to re-tally and create some separation. Then there's some dream breakers- the ones we fear the most. They can give their 1st near perfect scores and their last more than 100 points behind. However, I've looked at some and haven't got a clue how they arrived at some of the scores. ![]() Clearly they're the amalgam of these three types of judges- 'Paula' - the kind fellow aquascaper who knows how hard it is. 'Randy'- the fairly neutral industry related bigwig who's got his own idiosyncrasies. 'Dreaded Simon'- the dream breaker who's not afraid to tell it like it is. End of rant-move along people, we've got 2010- the tenth edition to look forward to. ![]()

There are 18 judges, at least majority must say good to get such rank.
Sorry Enrico, I was lost in translation. My friend was told me that the Chinese translation is much-much better. You heard more pause in English translation. At that time I wish I can speak Chinese.

If i have correctly understand the main of Grand Prize Work, my vision of it have changed dramatically. Now I read it in the fowling way
Back ground bushes of Lugwigia brevipes is napalm fire devouring a juicy jungle or forest poisoned by defoliants Snake-like (is should be noticed that snake is christian symbol of sin and on other hand it calls reflexive fear of mortal danger) driftwood peaces are smoke spit or charred burnt trees both prostrate resembling arms of burned-alive humans stretched to the sky ("... no one ask question "Why?" since He have been here" James Blunt No Bravery have been starting play in maid), at once open in memory shocked the whole world pictures of crying and running children naked by napalm. Background color - color of the asphyxiating fog fumes horrible death. Green vegetation is restrained, it is beautiful but not more than a shadow of what had grow here before the fire. Thus, although the technique is very classical, but one that is shown in SCAPE very, very new is some kind of better-sweet that in vary contrast to the most other amount of sickly sweet works. All the same grief as rich shades of their colors as joy. |

To ravattar:
The English translation from Italian that you posted above is pretty correct. Please note that it is WHAT I UNDERSTOOD from the simultaneous translation from Japan to English. That translation was really lack, with lot of pauses and (i think) omissions (the chinese interpeter was always speaking, our english interpeter was often silent...), plus English is not my 1st language. Every omission or mistake is only because of me and my bad English, please apologyse. Any correction from others who attended the IAPLC2009 is welcome, I'll be glad to review my reportage. Ciao |
